OTW by Vans // Frieze LA

The worldwide launch of OTW by Vans signaled a new dedicated space where Vans can co-create with trailblazers and innovators who push culture forward.

Signaling the dawn of a new era for our brand, OTW by Vans is home to our first-ever collaboration with artist Sterling Ruby’s S.R. STUDIO LA. CA. The collection leads with the unique “Clash The Wall” silhouette, a mash-up of four Vans Icons: the Old Skool 33, the Authentic, the Mid-Skool 77, and the Sk8-Hi.

With Downtown Los Angeles as the backdrop, the OTW by Vans team brought together the communities of skateboarding, design, and art to push the definition of experiential events with a one-of-a-kind skateable sculpture constructed by Vans in partnership with PLAYLAB, INC. and California Skateparks and in collaboration with Ruby.

A recreation of the steep incline hills made famous by San Francisco skateboarding, the temporary monument set the stage for a night of musical performances by SALEM and Paris Texas, a DJ set by Ty, and a live skate exhibition by Vans athletes.
