Knu Skool // Old Meets Knu

The ‘Old Meets Knu’ new campaign unites athletes and lifestyle curators across generations through the iconic Vans Sidestripe. The campaign brings together two styles — our Classic Old Skool and the reimagined Knu Skool— through the stories of visionaries. 

Emerging in 1977, the Old Skool made its mark as an icon in the worlds of skate, music and fashion, pioneering the Sidestripe as a wardrobe staple. The Knu Skool revisits this for a new generation, nodding to skateboarding with a ‘90s inspired puffed-up tongue, 3D Sidestripe, and chunky oversized laces.

For the first installment of ‘Old Meets Knu,’ Vans Skateboarding legend Tony Alva and team rider Breana Geering come together through a shared mindset and vision, representing the legacy and evolution of the Old Skool and Knu Skool. Their story comes to life through renowned photographer Ed Templeton and stylist Veneda Carter, creative trailblazers in their respective fields.
